The compact, pre-wired CSA control panel commands all regulatory and operating controls for the boiler. Regulatory controls include:

Temperature (or pressure) operating controller Hi-limit temperature (or pressure) safety Lo-water cut-off switch Lo flue-gas temperature controller Fire danger feed controller

All of these regulatory controls are wired into a ""fail-safe" mode. In addition, each boiler is fitted with a 100% capacity pressure relief valve.

The stoker feed system is further protected by a rotary-air-lock that provides a physical separation between fuel storage and fire. A solenoid water supply valve, activated by the fire-danger controller sprinkles the stoker auger if burnback occurs in the feed train. This valve is piped in parallel to a self-contained Danfoss temperature control valve that operates in case of a power failure. A stand-by reservoir supplies water in case of a water supply failure.

By placing the draft fan downstream of the boiler, (induced draft), the boiler hearth is always under negative pressure. Whenever the hearth door is opened, air is drawn into the hearth thereby ensuring safety to the operator or personnel.

Applications:

APSCO boiler installations include a number of applications utilizing milling wood wastes from furniture and window manufacturing plants. In addition, wood-chip central heating systems in Northern Canadian communities provide buildings with thermal energy.

Consult factory for specific applications.
